Mary Beth & Clay

The Venue

The Beal Center is a historic courthouse located in Hayesville, North Carolina. The courthouse was constructed in 1888 on the Square in downtown Hayesville to replace the original structure that burned down eighteen years earlier, destroying all the county records. The building served as the county courthouse until the early 2000s when a new courthouse was constructed in the city.

Unfortunately, the structure had fallen into disrepair, but with funding from a local nonprofit, a local benefactor, and Clay County citizens, the courthouse underwent a complete restoration that was completed in 2018. It is now a beautiful events venue and hub for community outreach.
